The Story

The Skimming Stone Rings celebrate the simple pleasure of searching through piles of pebbles for the perfect flat stone, then sending it bouncing across the surface of the water—an age-old pastime and one of life’s few free and abundant pleasures.

My partner loves skimming stones, so he gathered a few for me to work from. I took the silhouette of each stone and translated it into a ring, carefully carving and shaping it to preserve the character of the original. In creating the opening for the finger, however, the stone takes on a new purpose: it can never be skimmed again.

Inspired in part by Dominic Wilcox’s 24ct gold skimming stone, the rings play with ideas of value and luxury—transforming something ordinary, found and free into something precious.

Wear them individually or stacked. We hope they encourage you to play, skim a stone and find joy in simple acts, while asking: what truly holds value, and what does luxury mean to you?

Who made my jewellery?

Emma is the designer and creater of your jewellery.

Emma worked in the fashion and jewellery industry in London for 6 years ,before starting her own brand which has now been running for over 10 years.

Emma was taught traditional and contemporary jewellery and specialises in sustainable sculptural pieces, Emma particularly enjoys testing out new and unique methods of working which are traditional for metal work.
